Forest Evening is inspired by the desire to bridge the gap between indoor spaces and the natural environment. The designers analyzed the needs of users who yearned for a stronger connection with nature. To address this, they devised a plan that leverages sensory effects. Large windows were used to visually enhance the connection with the outdoors, while natural materials like real leather, wood grain, and stone grain were incorporated to stimulate the senses of touch and smell, mimicking an outdoor experience.
The villa project is nestled in a serene forest, providing a peaceful setting for the residents. The design employs the technique of "borrowed scenery", integrating the outside view into the interior space through expansive windows. The use of natural materials like leather and wood grain gives the space an organic feel, further immersing the users in nature. To cater to the refined lifestyle of its occupants, the space is equipped with customized cabinets and decorative modules, offering ample storage and meeting their sophisticated tastes.
The realization of this design involved the use of panel wood and leather veneer, with the industry-leading pressing and cutting process ensuring production efficiency and appearance quality. Stone and metal materials serve as functional support and decorative embellishments. The design language of "custom cabinet" is used to ensure the stability and adaptability of multiple materials, and to maintain the uniformity of the home space style.
The products are customized and assembled from modular single products. They are packaged flat and in small volumes for easy disassembly and transportation, meeting the needs of large-scale production and cost control. This approach is also conducive to reducing resource waste and environmental damage. The height of the product is 2780MM, with the width and depth customized according to the size of the space.
After purchase, professionals measure and make customized products, providing professional door-to-door installation services. Users can easily use the product through simple opening and closing or placing actions. The project started in March 2022 in Guangzhou and finished in July 2022 in the same city. The design was based on commercial space design research, with the objective of designing and developing the owner's space. The result is a commercial model room development design that addresses users' practical living needs through clever design.
Designing the cabinet and wall panel presented a challenge, as it was difficult to perfectly combine three-dimensional leather and panel wood without producing burrs or bulges. The designers innovatively fused together leather materials of different textures using metal closing. The connection of the main body such as wall panels, cabinets, and ceilings also posed a challenge, which was overcome through extensive testing and adjustment.
Forest Evening was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2023. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The design, admired for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcases a remarkable level of excellence and introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
